I could care less if Kearns was a homosexual...it is his acting acumen and his wonderful talent as the ever-grousing but big- hearted George Wilson that he will forever be truly remembered for, now nearly 56 years after his tragic death...as Jay North said in a 2011 KTLA TV interview, "...he (Kearns) was a good-hearted, good natured individual!" Right on, Jay! Rest in God's eternal peace, Joe! We your fans still remember you all the many years later, we WON'T ever forget you, you are forever preserved on film! :-)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07148879047253809008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7594267082217794633.post-61406931806075451562017-08-01T05:30:44.835-07:002017-08-01T05:30:44.835-07:00It is believed Joseph Kearns was a homosexual. Or ...It is believed Joseph Kearns was a homosexual. Or at least Kearns was reported to have had sexual interactions with members of his own gender. Perhaps that is why "Good 'ol Mr. Wilson" really required that "nerve medicine?"

Here is a link to one blog where I found information about Kearns' alleged sexual preference--http://www.tomorrowoman.com/culture/retro-stars-didnt-know-gay/19/jimmohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16408405337267909111noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7594267082217794633.post-12863163807789853752014-02-02T07:43:20.756-08:002014-02-02T07:43:20.756-08:00I think about Mr. Kearns often, he was certainly a...I think about Mr. Kearns often, he was certainly a star, if not the star of DtM. I just turned 60, and find the show just as fascinating now as I did when I was a kid. I watched it mostly in reruns. I'd like to find more information about Joseph, I just found out that quite a few pictures of his theater organ house are on Flickr. Now, on to a few episodes courtesy of Shout Factory.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15093981947899450740noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7594267082217794633.post-55187165168235737252013-08-09T07:14:53.310-07:002013-08-09T07:14:53.310-07:00Great Article.

He had such a great historic part of the entertainment worlds beginnings from radio to television. Perhaps with time more information will pop up, and hopefully be accurate.
Does anyone know if Kearns was Homosexual? Not that it matters. I am just curious.
Thanks again for the article. More posts are upcoming, so keep a look out for them!

@Donna Lethal: Sick inquiries are inevitable, especially since DtM was (more or less) a squeaky-clean sitcom featuring flawed human beings in front of the camera and behind it. I think the majority of those who pose such "horrible" questions are in need of a cheap laugh more than answers. If (perish the thought) I were to get equally mean-spirited remarks, I'd just delete them in a heartbeat.

Thanks for reading and leaving a comment!
